Do u think i spend too much money on skin care..?

like every 2 months or so i spend like 80$ on skin care alone.do u think this is too much?Do u think i spend too much money on skin care..?
no i dont think so, you just take good care of yourself. nothing wrong with that!Do u think i spend too much money on skin care..?
i think it depends on what kind of skin care you're buying. if it is a few high quality items that work versus buying alot of silly things you dont need. It all depends. but hey.....whatever floats your boat. I prob spend that much plus some every month!
depends, do you have great skin? if so then it may be worth it 80 is a lot of money unless you are getting a lot of facials etc... if you think it is too much try slowly cutting back
Well, if you can afford it and it enhances your natural features, I see no reason not to spend that much on skin care. However, if you CAN'T afford it, or you're just buying extra STUFF that you'll never use, you should probably be a little bit more thrifty.

Honestly, all the skin care products you really need are: a good cleanser, foundation/powder, mascara, and maybe some eyeshadow for special occasions. Going natural in the way of makeup is the best. All of the above items are probably available at Walgreens or Target.

Of course, if you don't mind spending forty bucks a month on skincare, go ahead! It's your money.
I don't think so. Taking good care of your skin is really important. It beats spending that much on makeup. You need to take very good care of your skin because as you get older, no amount of makeup can cover up neglected skin.

A solid house has a good foundation, and a beautiful person has good skin!

Well let me tell you a secret..... i use to do that b-fore but since my mom told me that there are better ways to protect your skin without spending big amounts of money..... Once in a week b-fore I go to bed I wash my face and I prepare some oatmeal with milk and honey. After I wash my face i put it on for about 15 minutes and then I take a towel and I clean my face with warm water...Right after you remove everything you will se how soft and clean your face looks.... Believe me it works I been doing for about 2yrs. and I can tell you that my face change a lot..... Hopefully it works for you too...
Depends...maybe you need it...so thats fine! If you dont need it and you are just using money...STOP!!! I think you should use about only $50!!!
It depends.....how old are you? and how much do you earn?
totally depends. how old are you and how bad is your skin? can you afford the expensive stuff? i've heard on oprah and stuff, you don't need the expensive brands, but if you can afford them why not. i probably spend like $40 a month and that's plenty. i use clinique and other stuff from sephora. if you're like buying proactiv, it's okay!

Questions on skin care?

Would anyone be able to recommend a skin care treatment that actually works.

I have a little bit of breakouts and want clear skin.

Anything you have found that works besides proactiv or any tipsQuestions on skin care?
hi, I know you want solutions, and this is one. the best thing you can do is keep your skin clean and wear moisturizer with sunblock. You don't need an expensive face wash and you don't need pricey products. get a nice face wash for combo skin and wash 1-2x/ day. get a facial if you need a jump start but don't spend too much. if it is bad or gets worse see a dermatologist. be patient and don't overdo it.

I am 22years, is it best for me if i use Olay total effect ?Or Which brand will be best for me , me tried L贸real didn't work to me :(

    Help me ........

I want good skin care brand ...........Help me ...... Can u advice to me some good skin care ?
Well, why would you want to use Proactive anyways if you don't have skin problems? Even if you do, I wouldn't use it, all it does is dry out your skin! You're only 22! I don't think you need Olay total effect! Its like for people in their 30s or 40s. Just take good care of your skin now, and you won't need that at a later age. Just keep you skincare simple. Just wash, and moisturize. I have done many things to my face when I was younger and I wish I hadn't. I switched from one product to the next, whatever was hot or I see in the magazines. It just totally ruined my skin. Don't do the same! Help me ...... Can u advice to me some good skin care ?
WELL...... proactive is good but exspensive otherwise i csant help you

Has anyone tried Medicalia's skin-care range?

Check the fine print, they are generally full of parabens. I dont go there. Cancer scare. There are paraben free lines of skin care but you have to look hard. I use one and love it.Has anyone tried Medicalia's skin-care range?
    no

If parabens are harmful, why do so many skin and body care lines use them?

Parabens are used as a preservative. Without any preservatives most products would only have a shelf life of about a week or so.

There are a lot of things that are harmful and or being watched for possibly being unsafe in most skin and body care lines.

For example, did you know that most soaps, shampoos facial cleansers and bubble bath contain DEA (Diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine), TEA (Triethanolamine). These chemicals have been suspected of causing hormone disruption and research has shown a strong link with kidney and liver cancer. Cocamide DEA which is also used as a foam booster is also suspected of forming carcinogens when applied to the skin.

The following ingredients while sounding very different also have much in

common; diazolidinyl urea (or 3-diol diazolidinyl urea), 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1

(or bronopol), DMDM hydantoin , imidazolidinyl urea, quaternium-15. All of these products are preservatives that break down and release formaldehyde. A chemical that has been on classified by the EPA as a probable human carcinogen. Other side affects also connected include cause joint pain, allergies, depression, headaches, chest pain, ear infections, chronic fatigue, dizziness, loss of sleep, or even function as asthma triggers.

So what do you do? First and foremost educate yourself. Knowledge is power. Learn what ingredients are dangerous and then look for products that have more natural ingredients.

Chances are if you can鈥檛 read it, you shouldn鈥檛 wash with it.

It's worth to spend money in superficial skin care or in electronic stuff like laptop, Ipod, Tv...?

I would say superficial skin care, you only live once you might as well like it as beautifully as possible. In addition it is certain that they are always coming out with new and better versions of electronics, so if you buy one now you will most likely have a old product in a few weeks Hope I helped :)

I think it's better to buy a laptop or ipod, or something else electronic. You never know if skincare stuff is really going to work.Unless it's acne medicine then you should spend money on it.Anti -aging stuff on the other hand,.....well you can't turn back the clock so that doesn't work really. It's worth to spend money in superficial skin care or in electronic stuff like laptop, Ipod, Tv...?

The hot and cold water thing is good but also ....

Sun is never good...It causes discoloration and sun spots on your skin that are hard to get rid of.

Get facials that you can do at home with fruits and natural exracts and use face moisturizers and no makeup if you dont need it.

Wash your face with hot and cold water every morning and every night (the hot water opens the pores and the cold water closes them). All natural skin is always the way to go.
Wash your face every morning and night. At night I wash mine in the shower because it's more convient. I use Aveeno Daily Skin Brightening Scrub and it really helps even out and tone any type of skin. I really think that you should try that. Make sure you use warm water, not too hot or it will dry out your skin. =)
    Hi Kristen,

I am a District Manager with a company that specializes in skin care. I am also a licensed cosmetologist and professional make up artist.

This is a great time in your life to be concerned with a good skin care routine. It is very important to take care of your skin now. It is most important to always wash your face. You need a good daily cleanser, one that that is non-drying and will easily remove dirt and oil without stripping skin of its ';vital'; moisture barrier. You then need to use a daily balancer, one that is non-drying and will return your skin back to its natural pH level. You will also need a daily moisturizing cream, which provides your skin with the proper amount of hydration that it needs, without feeling greasy or dry.

Stay out of the sun, I know that you think you look so much prettier with that beautiful tan, but 90% of the damage we do to our skin, as we age, is due to the environment, such as sun bathing. It is not worth it down the road.

The company that I work with has a great skin care line for teens and an Acne Line for teens, as well. We also have a specific line of unique products formulated just For Young Individuals. It helps you match your unique personality and style with awesome products. Check out this web site for more information that might answer your questions, fyiarbonne.com ! You only have that ';one'; beautiful face, so take care of it!

Would you pay $850 a month for Eminence Organics skin care or at least $ 450 for Arbonne skin care products? ?

Which brand line worth the money?Would you pay $850 a month for Eminence Organics skin care or at least $ 450 for Arbonne skin care products? ?
I just ran out of my Arbonne RE9 and LOVED it! it lasted me nearly a year. I bought mine on ebay for about 100.00. I am on the look out for more at a great deal again.Would you pay $850 a month for Eminence Organics skin care or at least $ 450 for Arbonne skin care products? ?
I'd do Arbonne, but there is NO WAY I would pay that price!

K here's how you do it:

Order $250 worth of Arbonne at 35% off, then you get another $200 worth of Arbonne for 80% off.

So, you get $450, but it costs $202.5.

Now, that's a LOT of skin care- should last you over a year! Haha.

But that price is much better, ya know? That's how I order my Arbonne anyways, but I don't sell it I just use the discount. I order some skin care, makeup, nutrition stuff- and I do that once every few months or whatever.

    HTH
I actually do pay to buy the Arbonne Skincare line. I purchase the RE9 line that costs $300 retail and lasts about six months. But, I purchase it at the consultant discount rate for $195. I love the products and think they are worth it.

BTW - $850 a month seems quite expensive per month, pretty sure I won't be able to afford something that expensive.
i would only spend that much money if i had serious skin problems and my derma reccomended it . if not i would just buy some lancome skin care or shiseido . they both have really good cosmetics and skincare lines .
I would NEVER pay that much for skincare, that's almost a mortgage payment!

Well as a Hispanic female I can tell you what I use. I use the Papaya Cleansing Line from Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. It uses papaya enzymes to dissolve oils and dirt gently. My husband also loves it because it makes his whiskers really soft so he don't get a razor burn when he shaves. The stuff will last you about 8 months or so. Here is the web-site:

I am sure that both lines are worth the money! I would suggest trying both and seeing what line you like better!!! I have not used or even herd of Eminence Organics! But I also live and a smaller city! I personal use and LOVE Arbonne! For me its worth every penny!! Would you pay $850 a month for Eminence Organics skin care or at least $ 450 for Arbonne skin care products? ?
I actually do pay to buy the Arbonne Skincare line. I purchase the RE9 line that costs $300 retail and lasts about six months. But, I purchase it at the consultant discount rate. Are you trying to decide which company you would like to start a business with? Make sure to compare the compensation plans closely. I haven't seen Eminence Organics but Arbonne has a great compensation plan.

  • Does anyone knows we can use bertolli olive oil (extra virgin) for skin care or body massage??

I use a Hyvee brand Extra Virgin Olive oil on my face and body and it works great, so I'm sure a name brand would be at least as good. I haven't had any problems with breaking out or ending up too greasy. You really only need a few drops (for your face) but if you're going to be using it for massage, I would recommend a Coconut oil (only about 4 dollars at WalMart) because it has more of a light feeling to it.Does anyone knows we can use bertolli olive oil (extra virgin) for skin care or body massage??
i would not use something that i cook my meats in to give a massage with. i would go to the store and look into a nice body massage gel/lotion, something that smells nice and wont having u thinking chicken by the time ur done, LOL LOL LOL..Does anyone knows we can use bertolli olive oil (extra virgin) for skin care or body massage??
Yes, you can, but it helps to add a drop or two of essential oil to it to get rid of the olive smell.
I use olive oil to clean my face, and in my hair.

Go to google, and look for OCM the Oil CLeansing Method.
I second checking out the OCM. Olive oil is great for the skin and shouldn't break you out either.

    Best skin care products?

ok, so im 25 now and am starting to worry about wrinkles and things like that. anyone have any recommendations?Best skin care products?
If you are looking for home remedy to reduce wrinkles, try this.

Smear honey on your face and leave it for as long as possible (but 5-10mins a day will do). then rinse off with tepid water mixed with a teaspoon of cider vinegar - this has a neutral pH and will act as a toner.

And if you have some bucks, Lifecell anti wrinkle cream would be a good choice. You can have more information here.

    http://www.lifecellskinreviews.com/Best skin care products?
Try papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are

    available online. These work wonders.

Maybe it will work on you too.

Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
I absolutely love the products I use from BeautiControl. There are multiple SkinCare Sets which include the ';age'; your skin is acting (it has nothing to do with your age)

20's SkinLogics is for more acne prone skin and if your skin is super oily, might be the best for you to start with.

    http://www.beautipage.com/catalog/daily_鈥?/a>

30's SkinLogics is for combination skin and no so much oily skin, but it begins to prevent the signs of aging. This is the one I use, but I don't exfoliate daily.

    http://www.beautipage.com/catalog/daily_鈥?/a>

If your skin is oily i'd use the 20's set, and if your skin is combination i'd use the 30's.

    olay and neutrogena are great!!
to be honest ...... dove....olay...and lots of water..
Well it depends on what you feel is a problem with your skin.

I have very sensitive skin. But after trying plenty of expensive brands I tried Dove. Dove has been really gentle on my skin also I am very consistant with my daily routine. I wash my face with Dove in luke warm water and then use a non alchol toner. Then I put Dove face cream on my face as well. So far I have been using for about 3 yrs and I hardly ever get blemishes and my skin also my skin never dries out like before and also never shiny.
    ponds neutragena and nivea
Definatley Aveevo. It is not expenise and works great! And usually it's not perfumed like other brands, which makes it easy on sensative skin.
    Neutragena is amazing[:

And if you have sensitive skin this site has a really good all natural soap that is great for sensitive skin[:

**Before applying lemon juice, you just have to clean the scars with warm water. Then dab a teaspoon of lemon juice on cotton ball to be applied on the scars. Leave this for ten to fifteen minutes and see the results.**

    Also!!

umm it says that if you feel a pimple coming up,

to get a glass of plain water and pour some salt in it, stir it with a q-tip, then dip a cotton ball in it for about 15 seconds, hold it on your pimple for about 10-15 minutes. then take a dry cotton ball and wipe the pimple, but put pressure on it
Get a good face wash, something that will take away all the dead skin first. Then use one of those hot facial masks, to open your pores. Then use a some kind of liquid leave-on cleanser to clean your pores, and just try to do this once a week. For scaring, get basic scar healing cream, which you can get at pretty much any drug store.

Try not to put too much makeup on, because that's like suffocating your pores. Or at least wear face makeup that's healthy for your skin. Good luck :)

in skin care, many things are put into consideration..first,u have to determine your skin type,ur reactions and ur taste...secondly,depending on d results of the above ,it is advisable to use skin care products that hav been specified for ur skin type...but in general,if u cannot verify ur skin type et al,i would advise u go for mineral skin care products which have no SPFs,chemicals and r simply natural in production...hope u r satisfied?if not,ask further
You want to find products that are oil and fragrance free so that they don't irritate your skin. Also, I try to find companies that do not test on animals.

I love mark.'s new skincare line for those reasons.

They have a moisturizer with SPF30 called For Goodness Face ($15) that is great for everyday wear.
Well, I don't really use SPF anymore, because I have found that a little bit of sunshine kills my acne (I am more focused on NOT having any acne than wrinkles...)

BUT, I use to use Oil of Olay. Believe me, I have tried more expensive brands such as Estee' Lauder, Clinique, Lancome... But they all made me break out. EVEN THE CLINIQUE!!!
    I use Mary Kay

they have moisturizers with SPF and they have regular sunscreen. They are made naturally or @ least some of them are.

clinique, thats the best one out there, and its quite posh without being RIDICULOUSLY expensive. its like 拢10-拢15 for an item, but cheaper in usa. aveda is in a similar or slightly cheaper price range and it smells BEAUTIFUL.
    I'd say proactive

    Pimples Home Remedies

Mix 1 tablespoon groundnut oil with 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples.

Another overnight home remedy for zapping a zit is to put a dab of toothpaste on it to help dry it out. You may need to test this on a short-term basis to make sure it doesn't irritate your pimple. Calamine lotion will have the same drying effect.

Honey is a great remedy for pimples and acne. It kills bacteria and leaves the skin pimple free.

A common home remedy for pimples is toothpaste. Use the paste variety, not gel and gently apply a small drop directly on top of the blemish and let it dry. This will draw the pimple out and leave you blemish free. If left on too long, the skin may become irritated.

Juice of raw papaya is the best treatment for pimples. Apply fresh juice of raw papaya on pimples and get a good result.

Take a raw potato, peel and grate it. Put the grated into a muslin piece and tie it tightly to form a pad. Rub this pad all over the face in the firm, circular motions for about 5 minutes and then wash your face. Alternatively you could directly rub potato slices all over the face, Helps to get rid of blemishes and pimple scar.

    Pimples treatment using Zinc

Another useful remedy for acne and pimples is zinc. It should be taken in a dose of 50 mg daily for a month to reduce pimples. Then you can reduce the dose if noticable improvements are seen on your skin.

Home remedy for Pimple using Orange peel

Homemade Pimple Treatment using Orange peel has been found very effective. Pound the orange peel with water on a piece stone and apply to acne affected areas.

Mix equal amount of lemon juice and groundnut oil to form a paste. Apply on face and leave for 15 minutes and then wash off with water. Another good remedy to prevent pimples.

Mariglod petals crushed with a little castor oil can bring the zit to its head quickly. To suppress it, sandalwood paste with holy basil leaf helps.

To avoid transferring bacteria and germs, clean your pillowcase, washcloths, towels, make-up brushes and applicators frequently.

Apply fresh lime juice mixed to a glass of boiled milk as a face wash for acne, pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin.

Apply ripe tomatoes pulp on pimples and keet upto 1 hour, then wash.

Make a paste by mixing 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks, pimples will disappear forever.

Use of sulphur soap is effective in keeping the oil glands clean and thus reducing pimples and acne. Grease can be removed by the use of lemon juice or camphor颅spirit.

Blend cucumber and make a paste. Apply this as a mask on your face and leave it for 1/2 hour and then rinse. This refreshes your skin and prevents acne.

A mask of grated apple mixed with a little honey is an excellent remedy for pimples. Most facial masks can be applied to the skin for 15-20 minutes then washed off with warm water, followed by a cold rinse.

    How to reduce pimples:

    Regularly shampoo your hair.

Avoid unnecessarily touching your affected areas.

Change your dirty cloths , always wear clean and fresh cloth.

Wash your face twice a day with mild soap.

Avoid over make-up, only wear on special occasions.

Try to minimize your stress levels.

Keep a food diary to work out.
Have you heard of arbonne? they have the best. It is called the clear advantage system. I use it and could tell a difference right away. I liked it so well I am selling it to others. I love it. you can email me if your interested and I can give you my id number to order ofline at www.arbonne.com.
Yes, You want clear and pretty skin well here how? This is no easy task and it means you will do this everyday for ever.

First think pretty. What you think about yourself is what you will see.

Second, start by cleaning your system from the inside out. Drink pure distilled water, drink fruit and vegatable juices cut out the garbage intake including water in the pipes.

Third, wash in pure distilled water every inch of your body.

Fourth, when you're done with the wash then wash with ALOE VERA GEL and leave it on for thirty minutes then wash it off with pure distilled water. Three times a day. You should start seeing changes in about 90 days. The changes will be small at first. Have faith in the process it does work.

This will cost about $20.00 a week. Buy the water by the case.

    I purchase 40 cases at a time.
I have oily, acne prone skin and huge pores! The thing that gets me up in the morning is Biore products. I have tried soo many products and this is what works best for me. Here is what and how I use:

    1. Cleanser: Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser

    http://www.biore.com/usa/products/produc鈥?/a>

I LOVE this face wash! It gives you that icy feeling and you can feel it working. It does have a medication type smell, but once you see how it works .. you'll get over it LOL.

I use this 1 time in the morning and 1 time at night.

    2. After I cleanse, I tone: I use Biore Triple Action Astringent:

    http://www.biore.com/usa/products/produc鈥?/a>

Take a cotton ball and wet the cotton ball w/ this and rub this over your whole face! it smells like .. I dont know, but it smells good! Its not like other toners I've tried. It helps to close your pores and stuff and helps zits a bit. Use this, again, once in the morning and once at night after you cleanse.

    3. Moisturize: Biore Pore Minimizing Light Weight Moisturizer SPF 15: http://www.biore.com/usa/products/produc鈥?/a>

AMAZINGGG! After you put it on it doesnt leave your skin all greasy looking and feeling. The only downside is that its 12 bucks and quite a small bottle to me. Use after you cleanse and tone day and night. You can use this throughout the day if you like.

Those are the 3 things I do every morning and at night. It works for me. The cleanser and toner can be found for 6-8 bucks and the moisturizer is about 12 bucks. Pretty high prices but I'm willing to pay since I finally found something for my face. I also use Retin-A-Micro which is prescribed by my dermatologist.

Here are some more biore products:

    http://www.biore.com/usa/products/index.鈥?/a>

The next thing I plan on trying is the Warming Black head scrub and I want to try the Clay Mask too. I have the most STUBBORN black heads on my nose! So I'm hoping those work too.

Just remember to keep these 3 steps up :] You can try whatever brand you like, I just told you what I use. I think about every product like has a cleanser, toner and moisturizer which is good.

    Hope that helps!
if you want something cheap that works and is worth every penny, nuetrogena face wash fragrance free of course and their acne cream, my kids (teenagers) use them both and it does wonder, if your face starts to dry use dove fragrance free face soup but, cont to use the acne cream as most dermatologist will recommend that line along with creams they prescribe. Anything that has the doctor seal on it, you know your buying a tested product.

I have oily skin too and here's what I do to take care of it:

    - oil-free cleanser (a great product for people with oily skin because it doesn't add any extra oil in it and it isn't too harsh either.)

    - alcohol-free toner (toner gets rid of extra crap on your face i.e. makeup while soothing it. Alcohol can isrupt the PH balance of your skin, so opt for an alcohol-free version like Nivea Visage Gentle Toner [pink bottle])

    - oil-free moisturizer with spf 15-45 (oily skin needs to be moisturied too! The added spf will also protect your skin in the sun)

    - exfoliate your skin either once every week or once every two weeks (whichever one works better for you). St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for acne-prone/oily skin works rather well. For exfoliaters, you generally want to match the size of the bead to the size of your pores on your skin. If you have dilated pores (large pores that look a bit dotty/bumpy) you should opt for larger beads like the ones in St. Ive's Apricot Scrub.)

Just make sure you don't use more than 5 products on your face regularly. The mix of all those chemicals on your face could make things worse. However, oily skin can usually tolerate a lot.

I used to have tons of pimples (including those nasty cysts), blackheads, and whiteheads too until I started microdermabrasion and using Proactiv Solution. Cheesy, but it actually worked for me.

Have fun! What I ve to care for my oily skin?
It sounds like you need a skin care regiment with respected products. Unfortunately this means that you will need to try many things before you find something that will work. The key is to be consistant...you must stay with your regiment twice a day...when you get up in the morning and before you go to bed.

You will want to purchase products that are formulated for Combination to Oily skin. You should have a cleanser, exfoilant, ance treatment solution or toner, and a moisturizer. Yes...a moisturizer! One of the biggest causes of Oily skin is dry skin that over time compensated by over producing oil to sooth the skin.

Wash your face and neck with a gentle cleanser and warm water. Use a face cloth and apply cleanser in an upward motion. Rinse with cool water to close the pores. About 2 to 3 times a week you will want to use an exfiolant to get rid of dead skin cells. Do this after you have washed your face.

Then you can apply a toner or an acne treatment...avoid brands that contain alcohol or other ingredients that dry the skin (which can lead to Oil production).

When dry apply a moisterizer with an SPF of at least 25. Even if you don't spend a lot of time in the sun, flourescent lighting emits UVB rays which cause cancer not to mention wrinkles.

It will take some getting used to but once you will see an improvement each week you stck to your regiment. If you would like more advice on finding the right skin care please contact me at jeharrison@marykay.com . Mahalo.
Toner effectively removes residual makeup, dirt and cleanser while preparing the skin for moisturisation, and se that the toner is free from alcoholbcause it absorbs moisturefrom the skin. I suggest you to use artistry products which is oneof leading brandsin beauty and skin care, you can log on to the site http://ireddy.qhealthbeauty.com/. if u have any questions mail to nindureddy@yahoo.co.in, she is skin care consultant.
I don't think it matters what you eat, i tried all sorts when i had bad skin and it don't matter.

Toner tightens pores. Get some antibactieral face wash and don't use moisteriser. Also getting your face in the sun will dry it out. Obviously don't burn it so use sunblock. You can get sunblock for oily skin. Also steam your face every other day to unblock your pores. Try to relax stress doesn't help!
all this is depends on your skin dear..try this non medicated things like take the lime fruits and apply on your face ,then lets it dry and wash after like ten minutes,

and try also cucumber fruits and cuts in slices and wash your face morning and evening..

water is not that much quantity is about how much the fluds intake you have in you..like take tea in few cups per days..in daytimes add up the juice of fruits natural one and some few glass of water in different times,

all the best lets me know if it works.
i was like you, i still have oily skin but my spots have cleared up you need to get a really god exfoliator and use it twice a day, if your english there is a product called sudacrem which is brilliant i use it every day, i dont know if you can get it in america if not some antibacterial cream will help. try oil free ones for oily skin

  • How to care for oily skin?

I've got really oily skin. Like, in 2hours time after i've washed my face. I could finish one piece of oil-absorb paper, and maybe using 2nd piece. I really don't know how to take care, i've tried all kinds of facial foam and moisurizer, and it seemed no use. how often should i wash my face? I wash my face 3-4 times per day, many people suggest that i should only wash my face 2 timse per day. But it's too oily! Any suggestions? Thanks. How to care for oily skin?
The successful treatment of oily skin requires patience, since excessive oil production is a symptom of an internal problem. Therefore, a holistic approach is necessary. Results may be slow, and in extreme cases the client should be referred to a health professional. Although oiliness may not be completely eliminated, the condition can be improved and acne lesions avoided. This goal, together with making the skin look more attractive, should be the esthetician's objective.

The essential requirement of treating oily skin is to remove excess surface sebum without total removal of the skin lipids. Severe degreasing treatment can lead to an apparent worsening of sebum secretion, which defeats the aim of the cleansing. A method of cleansing this type of skin is to wash with a solution of a very mild synthetic detergent (surfactant, see below) containing no oils, waxes or any other lipid agent that could aggravate the oily condition of the skin, sometimes combined with a toning lotion. This kind of product eliminates the oily residue and debris from the skin surface. Some cleansing products contain low concentrations of hydroxy acids, which remove dead cells from the upper levels of the stratum corneum. They must be used on a regular basis to work adequately. A light moisturizer may be included in the product to counteract any drying effects of the cleanser.

An alternative form now available for facial cleansing is a lathering cloth. This is a growing segment of the cleansing market. Some of the clothes are designed to meet the specific needs of different skin types by delivering multiple skin benefits in addition to excellent cleansing. Due to the form itself, the cloth can contain a low level of surfactants making them mild to skin. These products are still able to generate a generous lather via the cloth structure, which incorporates air as the lather is generated. Being mild while also depositing conditioning agents directly onto the skin helps to improve the skin's overall condition beyond basic cleansing. Lastly, the different cloth textures allow for individualized, but gentle, exfoliation that removes skin flakes for a more even skin surface. These combination of benefits can eliminate the need of other specialty cleansing products, such as toners, make-up removers and exfoliators.

Use an astringent daily to remove excess oils. Don't use an alcohol-based products -- if you strip too much oil from your face, the skin will overcompensate and produce even more oil. Cleanse at least twice a day with a mild cleanser to help prevent clogged pores . But don't scrub hard or overwash your face. Moisturizing is not necessary on a daily basis. However, if your face feels tight after washing, then apply a light, oil-free moisturizer . Avoid mineral oils and cocoa butter. When choosing makeup, especially foundation and blush, buy oil-free products. Makeup that is water based and non-comedogenic won't clog pores. (There are also oil-absorbing foundations that help keep oil off the face.) Use a sunscreen that is not oil based, preferably a gel, as it's less greasy. Be sure to use a minimum SPF of 15. If you have breakouts, use a cleanser with salicylic acid to help exfoliate pores. There are also moisturizers that contain salicylic acid.

i hope this can help you. happy hunting

    regards

Anyone know anything about imdeen capsules for skin care?

just want to know if these things are worth the money as they seem expensiveAnyone know anything about imdeen capsules for skin care?
They are expensive but although I haven't used them myself, I have friends that absolutely swear by them!

My advice would be to look out for them on special offer, sometimes they have a buy two get one free.

And remember that supplements are no substitute for a healthy eating plan, it would probably be cheaper to improve your diet and drink plenty of water!

    good luckSkin care products question?
No i do the same thing haha. But be careful this can irritate your skin especially if its sensitive. this stuff can really dry your skin and you wouldn't want pieces of skin falling off your face. So just make sure you have a good moisturizer.
It may dry your skin terribly my recommendation is get a DR appointment and have them percribe you a solution thats what i use!
I don't think so but don't use them all together.
more or less, you'd better not use them all together

Skin care face- can some one please help?

Im working in office the past 4 months and my skin has gotten bad (iam ragin as i always had really good skin) there is no air conditioning and im in front of a computer all day........ i eat really well and drink lots of water and have a good skin care regime what can i do to help my skin?Skin care face- can some one please help?
It depends on what you mean by really bad.

    If it's acne:

If you are on the phone at all, be sure you clean your phone off everyday before you go home. Lysol wipes will do it. Also clean your cell phone.

Make sure you aren't touching your face a lot. Use a tissue or towel to wipe your face.

Even if you don't have oily skin, since you are spending all day sweating, use a gel cleanser twice a week.

You may want to switch to a lighter moisturizer.Skin care face- can some one please help?
If you aren't already using a 3 step skin care- cleanser, toner, moisturizer- then you should try that. But hey props to you for eating well and drinking lots of water- a lot people don't know how important that is! I market a really good skin care and cosmetics line, they are one of the top 5 in the world. Everything has a 6 month money back guarantee- even if you use it all up. Its truly fantastic stuff and would probably help you out. Its not sold in stores and only sold exclusively through independent business owners. You can check it out at http://csanders.qbeautyzone.com Hope this helps! Feel free to email me if you have any questions :)

My skin is kinda oily in some areas, and i break out very often.

    so cleaner is very important

i have been using Clinique and neutrogena and skin ID and all kind of cleansers and toners but i want to try some new ones

any recommendations? What kind of skin care should i use? if i am 19!?
ok well i really recommend you trying accutane.

I'm an actress in LA and all the celebs are on it.

doctors usually dont give this as an option or even mention it because thy do like to use this as a last result. mostly because it has some scary side effects like liver damage and birth defects if you get pregnant while you are on it.

but seriously.. ive had to battle acne ALL my life.. i had cysts like all over strangers would seriously come up to my mom and say i need to do something about my skin. you go on it for about 5 months.. and trust me.. you will seriously never have a zit again after you go on it. it is a high dose of vit. A and it makes your skin beautiful.. ask your derm. about it... it takes awhile to get on it though,, you have to get your blood drawn once every month you take it for. but it will seriously clear up your skin no ****.

dont waste your money on **** that doesnt work

  • What care should be taken for the dry skin people in summer, winter, rainy seasons and diet to be taken?

During summers eating fruits rich in Vitamin C is a good option.Lemonade,Orange Juice and Watermelons are available during summers. They help in clearing the complexion and make the skin less oily.Beetroot and aloe vera juice purifies the blood and helps you to get rid of pimples, acne, pigmentation, dryness and patches. Thus they should be consumed all around the year.

I have a skin care question?

i am 14, very rarely get belmishes and i have normal skin. I use the dove beauty bar/soap. a lot of ppl tell me that u have to use a lot of products for healthy skin- cleanser, toner moisturizer- is that nessacary? I mean the dove beauty bar works fine, but i will try to get everything if i need too. thanks to allI have a skin care question?
Really the best thing for your skin is to not use too many products(for some people). People may think that with a lot of help your skin can be perfect but it doesn't do anything. Your skin will get used to the effects of the chemicals and eventually the product won't be useful. If the the dove soap works for you then keep on using it!I have a skin care question?
I have been using the Dove beauty bar for about 30 years and my skin looks wonderful and I am well over 40. I had blemish-prone skin, too as a teen, and my dermatologist recommended its use. I have never changed either. It is good for all skin types, too. Right now a moisturizer and a toner is not necessary, if your skin is doing well. After 18, you can start with a light water-based moisturizer......I bet Mom and Dad, or one of them had good skin when they were young, too. Good genes, help, too. As the others said, do not waste your money on products you do not need.
No you dont, not now at least. If your skin is clear now then stick to what you are doing, Dove beauty bar is a nice product anyway. Now you may be like me, my body waited until i graduated highschool and was 18 to start breaking out like it has no sense. Even still i dont even use all of that, i just use a cleanser (cetaphil antibacterial bar), moisturizer and benzoyl peroxide on my breakouts. As a matter a fact using all of those extra products may irritate you skin and cause you to break out more...so stick to what has been working for you m`dear.
This is very subjective. Some people have skin that requires far more cleaning. If your skin is clear and you are happy with the way it looks now just continue your current regiment. There is no need to use additional products as they will show no benefits. You'd just be throwing money in the garbage.
U DON'T NEED ALLL THAT CRAP LOL, BEST WAY TO KEEP THE FACE FREE FROM PIMPLES AND ALL THAT, USE A RAG WITH WARM WATER AND UR DOVE SOAP AND SCRUB UR FACE THEN RINSE THE RAG WITH COLD WATER TO CLEAN THE FACE AND USE WHAT EVEN LOTION THATS GOOD FOR UR FACE I USE JERGENS ';SHEA BUTTER'; OR JOHNSON'S ';SHEA BUTTER'; IT MAKES UR FACE A LITTLE OILY BUT THAT OIL PREVENTS WRINKLES GOOD TO START NOW LOL...
You don't ';have'; to use anything.. if the Dove bar soap works for you, then that's great! And it will save you a ton of money on products you don't need.
I agree with Abby. I know a ton of people who only use simple soap on their face and they look great.

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE CARE NOT TO DRAG AN ELDERLY PERSONS SKIN WHEN MOVING THEM?

Why should you take care not to drag an elderly persons skin when moving themWHY SHOULD YOU TAKE CARE NOT TO DRAG AN ELDERLY PERSONS SKIN WHEN MOVING THEM?
Are you serious? What do you think happens when you do it to a healthy young person, let alone someone with fragile skin and bones ?

You will HURT them, and rip their delicate skin and bruise them.WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE CARE NOT TO DRAG AN ELDERLY PERSONS SKIN WHEN MOVING THEM?
Alteration in skin integrity is a practice issue across the continuum of care, particularly as patients age. In aging skin, the epidermis gradually thins. There is a flattening of the dermal-epidermal junction and effacement of dermal papillae and epidermal rete pegs, making the skin more susceptible to mild mechanical trauma.

Aging skin is more easily stretched due to a decrease in elastin fibers. The skin becomes a less-effective barrier against water loss, bruising, and infection. Thermoregulation is impaired and there is decreased tactile sensitivity and pain perception. Blood vessels become thinner and more fragile, leading to the appearance of hemorrhaging known as senile purpura. According to Malone et al,1 skin tears often occur at sites of senile purpura.

Age-related changes in the dermis are numerous. The most striking is the approximately 20% loss in dermal thickness, which may account for the paper-thin appearance of elderly skin.4 Decreases in dermal cells, blood vessels, nerve endings, and collagen lead to altered sensation, thermoregulation, rigidity, and moisture retention; skin sagging occurs as well.

Subcutaneous fat below the dermis consists primarily of adipose tissue, and it provides mechanical protection and insulation. Loss of subcutaneous fat during aging results in parallel losses in these protective functions.

Subcutaneous tissue undergoes sitespecific atrophy in the face, dorsal aspect of the hands, shins, and plantar aspects of the foot, increasing the energy absorbed by the skin during trauma to these areas. A concomitant decrease in pain perception may make the elderly person more vulnerable to traumatic environmental insults.
As you get older the skin loses a lot of its elasticity, so isn't as good as coping with the stress of any friction associated with being moved. Instead of holding up to the movement, it is likely to break/tear and the healing process can be considerably longer than in a younger person.
Everyone answered correctly. You also need to be careful not to bump then as ulcers easily form on the skin due to bleeding under the skin.
Due to a decrease in collagen the skin becomes thin and prone to easily tearing.
You shouldn't be dragging anyone's skin.
their skin is uber thin and can be torn easily

How do you take care of your skin?

I use a line of products from Mary Kay called Time Wise. Its a scrub I use every few days and a daily face wash and a day and night solution along with a good moisturizer. I live in a dry climate and have very dry skin. It seems to help keep my skin nice. And when I lived in the south with the humidity, it also worked great...helped stop breakouts!

As for makeup, I use Bare Minerals. Great line of makeup. Doesn't clog my pores or dry my skin or make it oily. The two combined seem to work great for me.

Hope this helps you!How do you take care of your skin?
you are a complex organism with many biochemical processes.

so taking care of your skin is not so easy. it takes a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

first thing you need to know is that you may respond differently to treatments than others.

so the best thing is to be sensitive and evaluate your OWN responses.

some people's skin might do well if cleansed regularly and other people's skin might not like it and as a response produce more oil or inflammation causing acne.

first try cleansing and moisturizing- the usual stuff. if that doesn't work, try cleansing less. play around with amounts and exposure times to the Products you are using. also try different products. change brands as you will become resistant. pay care full attention to the timing and the order of the stuff you are doing. for example; brush you teeth before you wash your face. after you have washed your face don't let it dry out too much before you moisturize. some people's skin might prefer to dry out. see what works for you. also play around with your diet. stay away from simple sugars (the sweet stuff) as they temporarily incapacitate your immune system making you vulnerable to bacteria. drink more water to keep your body's ph 5.5 or higher. oily skin loves acid and it makes it worse. when you feel hot and ';acidic'; drink some clean water, but don't drown yourself - losing electrolytes. try breathing well. try exercise as it could help unclog pores. other people's pores might clog from exercise. try these things and see what works for you, and if all else fails, go the medical route. but try avoid it. also check the leaflet of the medications you are currently using. some might actually cause skin problems, but consult your practitioner first before deciding to go off of Your meds. if you decide to take meds, try mild anti biotics before going on the retinoids,as they could have severe complications.

Wash your skin everyday, use Moisturizing cream. If you wear make up, make sure you wash it all off before you go to bed. And don't use it excessively.

What is the best skin care product? For dry pinpuly, ichy skin.?

If your skin is dry and itchy, you probably need to figure out why. Often the usual active ingredients in skin care products - benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid - can cause irritation and make your skin dry, uncomfortable and even break out worse! Try using a soothing facial cleanser without either of these products, possibly something by Dove or St. Ives, for about a week or two until your skin has had time to recover from irritation. It won't help your pimples disappear immediately, but if your skin is comfortable it can make the breakouts less extreme in the future. Use a moisturizer every morning and evening when you wash your face. After the dryness is gone, start back up with a new medicated product and use it maybe once a day or so until your face has time to get used to it, then gradually use it more often (or a higher concentration of the medication -- for instance, I used to use a 2% salicylic acid cleanser but I now use a .5% (half percent) salicylic acid cleanser).

I know this is kind of discouraging, but I am 20 years old and still have very sensitive, irritable skin. The best thing I ever did for it was to take birth control pills... it has worked miracles on my face! What is the best skin care product? For dry pinpuly, ichy skin.?

  • Is estee lauder mascara ok to use if their skin care line breaks me very badly..?

i use clinique 3 step system and my skin is finally clearing up. but i have to return the cleanser and lotion to estee lauder but lost the recipt so they said i can exchange for something else. I bought two lipsticks and one mascara, but not sure if i should use it or not. cause when i take off the mascara, some might get on my face and cause breakout!! what do u suggest!! :)Is estee lauder mascara ok to use if their skin care line breaks me very badly..?
i don't think the mascara is going to break you out since you are going to put it on your lashes, not on the rest of your face...Is estee lauder mascara ok to use if their skin care line breaks me very badly..?
Skin care and lotions have completely different ingredients to mascaras and lipsticks. There is no certainty that you will get irritation from mascara or lipstick even when you take it off. Many people do not know this but Estee Lauder is the parent company of Clinique, so in actual fact they are all ultimately made by the same people. Its also likely that many of the ingredients are similar if not exactly the same. But there are no products that are good for everyone so stick with the Clinique skin care if you find its working. Give the lipsticks and mascara a chance.

If you are ever concerned about any product you should do a spot test. this means you put a tiny bit of the product on your skin and wait 1-8 hours and see if you get a reaction. Obviously if you get a reaction after an hour take it off, do not leave it there for 7 more. The best areas to do a spot test is on the inner wrist or on your neck, behind your ear lobe. These areas a quite sensitive, that's what makes them good teat spots.
The only true way to find out if the mascara will break you out is to do a spot test. Put a small amount in the hair behind your ear (this spot is less conspicuous) and wear it there for as long as you'd wear the mascara. If you break out there then your question is answered. I think the mascara will be unlikely to cause a breakout because the ingredients aren't going to be the same as in the skin care line.

    Any good skin care sets?

Ok im 15 and have combination skin and a little acne. And I have no idea what acne skin care sets work and which ones dont. What are some good ones I should try. Thanks Lots :)Any good skin care sets?
I've tested out so many different facial cleansers, astringents, lotions etc etc for years trying to find what works best for me at a reasonable price. I have the same type of skin as you described and my recommendations would be

St. Ives Apricot scrub (great for preventing black heads, and exfoliates)

Neutrogena anything (I like it because there are a lot of different options and none of them leave my face feeling irritated or dry. This is good for frequent use)

Mary Kay has a good line of products as well, but it gets expensive.

Try keeping it as simple as you can, not all those cleansing pads and cloths and masks and lotions - too much on your skin is worse than not enough.

    hope that helps

Does the Murad Acne complex skin care kit work?

ive ben using it for about 3 weeks now (correctly), but barely any results have appeared, and on top of that, i am breaking out 2x more than before i started using it. can anyone, preferrably consumers of this product please answer my question?Does the Murad Acne complex skin care kit work?
I鈥檝e started using Murad Acne Complex庐 and I鈥檓 breaking out more. Why?

Whenever you begin using a new skincare line, your skin goes through what is called a purging process. This occurs because the product is actively cleansing and bringing all the trapped oil and impurities to the surface of your skin, which can cause you to break out more. We do recommend that when people experience this purging process, that they continue to use the products, as directed, everyday, twice a day to see results.Does the Murad Acne complex skin care kit work?

    Do skin-care products really work?

if u have any bad/good experience with them, tell me.also, what are some natural/not that can remove acne scars?Do skin-care products really work?
Some of the skin care products work very well and some don't. This all depends on your skin type, and the kind of problems you are having, such as acne. I'd suggest that if this is a BIG problem, you'd probably be saving money in the long run if you were to see a dermatologist rather than trying everything out there on the market. Also, if it is acne that you are experiencing, closely examine your diet. A lot of greasy foods (most fast-foods) will only add to this problem, as will chocolate and a lot of regular (NOT diet) sodas.

The best and by-far the cheapest way to try this out is: Buy some Aveeno Oatmeal facial scrub, and use it at least twice a day. Follow this with an astringent such as Sea Breeze, or even an after shave works. Be advised: it's going to burn for a few seconds. At the same time, try changing your diet to eliminate all ';junk food';, fast food, greasy food and sugar-loaded goodies. Give it about 2 weeks and be very consistent, and see if this doesn't help clear up some of this problem. If not, then don't waste any more money on various products--go to a dermatologist. Hope this helps you get this under control.Do skin-care products really work?
I think so but some are just hype. It's trial and error really..test a few out or read some reviews on the net. I think the best thing for your skin is a healthy diet and lots of sleep!
    The Revitol acne gel is ideal for treating acne spots directly. Revitol gel provides the powerful benefits and ingredients of the Revitol acne treatment solution in a clear gel form that is oil free and won鈥檛 clog pores. This Fast-acting invisible acne spot gel quickly clears breakouts with a maximum strength treatment for more information on '; pharmacy-online.tk ';
Skin care products do work as long as you get the right kind. If your skin is normal to dry (or oily), then make sure you get the right products that support your skin type. Plus it takes time for skin products to do what you want them to do. What also helps results is making sure you don't fight what the product is trying to do. Examine your diet and see if anything you eat or drink is triggering breakouts and makes needed changes. Also use the products as directed on the box and NOT what your friends or family say to use it. It's not their skin, it's yours. Like I said, they work as long as you work with them as well. ^_^
it depends on your skin. Ask a dermatologist on what product you should use or to avoid.
Skin care products are of great benefits ,for the manufacturers and sellers. Also for the advertising agencies. Acne scars marks can be lessened by applying/rubbing milk cream twice a day.

Serious skin care by Jennifer flavin-Stallone?

is the pro mineral concealer any good? I dont care if it dont hide dark circles, will it hide blotchyness or a small blemish?? not asking for a miracle just a bit of conceling now and then.

I would certainly take the option of telephoning them. YOU are the customer. Let them make an effort to convince you that all is satisfactory with their products and their policies. Peace!

Clinique vs. marykay vs. any other brand of skincare?? i'm looking for a good, daily skin care line to use

i am looking for skin care products that calm skin prone to redness, fight occasional breakouts and fight the first signs of aging (i'm 21)Clinique vs. marykay vs. any other brand of skincare?? i'm looking for a good, daily skin care line to use
I use clinique and it is amazing. I've tryed other things(proactive, clearsil, neutrogena) they dried my skin out and it looked awful. Clinique made my skin look so healthy. Its really good if you have sensitive skin since it would dry you out.Clinique vs. marykay vs. any other brand of skincare?? i'm looking for a good, daily skin care line to use
Clinique. is the best use the 3step . im 22 and i want to stop the aging process already lol marykay is kind of for older people .
I like Estee Lauder, I've had great results with their products.
I really love the Oil of Olay regenerist products....The serum is my favorite....They have a new one out that I think I will try that helps to make it look like you have seen some sun....I feel safe trying this brand of new products...Oil of Olay seems good with changing their products some and it has been tried and true for many years....Good luck.
clinique. trust me. i'm in my 40's. late 40's. even @ 21it is not too soon to start fighting the aging process.
bare minerals...or anything with minerals for that fact. they dont clog your pores and its way more pure then anything i have ever used
As an esthetician, I am an ingredient snob. I personally use Dermalogica in and out of my treatment room. I also use their products post-wax. There are so many GREAT professional skin care lines out there. You'll want a line that nourishes the skin, not just makes it feel good, which is what most of the over-the-counter or department store lines do.

Yes, I use them. The foundation is good and feels light with no breakouts. Actually it is called Clinique 'almost make- up' and it is a lotion with some color, but lighter then foundation. I havn't tried the face scrubs and lotion yet, but I own some.Hello..please can anyone tell me if clinique skin care products are good.Or what other brands you can advice?

    I would consider trying it.

The 3-step process is very good!
They are excellent. If you are mid twenties or younger you really can get away with only a few things such as a cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Sunblock in summer :) Best of luck.
