Guy That's Never Taken Care of His Skin - Any Advice?

I'm a 21 year old guy and I've never bothered with skin care or the likes of that.

What do you think is the best way to get started to being blemish free?Guy That's Never Taken Care of His Skin - Any Advice?
Is your skin really bad or just a few blemishies here and there ever so often? Either way, start drinking at least 2 litres of water a day (half a gallon). Use a mild oil-free moisturizing cleanser in the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to sleep. Invest in a non-alcohol toner that soothes and absorbs oil. Use a facial moisurizer with an spf 15 or higher for daily use, this will preven your skin from aging. Shave after showers as that softens your beard and makes it easier to shave. Start getting facials once in a while. Its REALLY good for your skin. Also, invest in a great quality exfoliant that you should use no more than 2 or 3 times a week, to much use of exfoliants dry out the skin and can often leave you with irritation or redness, and it doesn look pretty at all! Try finding an exfoliant that is very gentle and VERY non-abrasive, just soft and scrubby! Also, for night time, find a moisturizer or lotion with salicylic acid or benoyl perozxide that you apply after washing your face before going to bed. These products will battle acne as you sleep. Be careful though if you have one with benzoyl peroxide, it bleaches colored fabrics. It won't happen over night, especially if you have bad acne. If your skin is relatively clear, maybe after a week or two of following using those products and drinking your minmum 2 litres of water a day. And it could take a while longer if your skin is worse. The water makes a big difference though, i know thhat after i started drinking lots of water daily, my skin became super smooth, clear and glowing. I cant stress enough... WATER WATER WATER!! And look for higher-end products, like ones that salons and spas sell, they are very high quality and won't dry out your skin like the ones you find at a drug store. It might be a little more costly, but your skin will thank you for it! Department stores that have beauty and skin care sections usually carry Men's SKin care lines now. I know that Clinique will give you a consultation and then devise a skin care system that is perfect for you. Hugo Boss has a men's SKIN line as well. But if you don't feel like going into the beauty department and asking for help, these High-end product lines are great for men (although some are crazy expensive!!):

Biotherm Homme

Aqua di Parma (VERY EXPENSIVE!!!)

Anthony Logistics

Dermalogica

However, out of the ones I listed above, Biotherm Homme has the most complete line of products and is the mst affordable. I would recommend going to the beauty department of a department store though, especially Clinique. Most of the people who work there are very knowledgeable about skin care and skintypes!

Hopefully this helps!!Guy That's Never Taken Care of His Skin - Any Advice?
How about starting out inexpensive and easy - Dove. Use dove soap and a light moisturizer by dove. Always apply 30 SPF or higher sunscreen in the a.m. See if that is enough to clear your face up since the blemishes may be from build-up of dirt and neglect. If that doesn't work after about 3 weeks, look into the acne products.
buy a kit like proactive or acne free. all the steps are included which is easy, quick, and requires very little thinking on your part.
I swear by the Clinique line, and they make products for men.

start washing your face with a mild cleanser, especially one from the Noxzema, Biore, Acne Free or Clean%26amp;Clear line. Wash your face day and night, and try a topical lotion or gel at night to zap zits while you sleep. Wash your face after you exercize, and dont rub or scrub hard on your face. it wont do any good. Look for products with salicylic acid in it, these kill bacteria and zits. My favorites are Clean%26amp;Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment (it leaves clearer skin in one day and goes on and stays clear) and Noxzema Continuous Clear Microbead Cleanser (It gets cold to show you its working, and cleans really deep into your skin.) If youre a really daring guy, try a clay face mask once every week for 10 minutes. It works wonders and feels great too!
i dunno.
Never Forget Sunscreen!

If you want....use moisturiser

And best of all, smile =D

xx
If you're not doing anything now, start simple and take it from there.

Get a good facial soap like Oxy-Wash, Clean and Clear, or Noxzema. Don't go crazy with the super-expensive foo-foo stuff. Following the directions, wash your face with this stuff twice a day, everyday, without exception. If your skin begins to get rough or sore, use less of the soap or switch products. After two weeks of this (remember, every day), see how much better you look. You may decide that you look fine.or tha another week of this will make you look fine. Or, you may need to get something else like benzoil peroxide cream. If you still have a really bad problem, you can get a script from the doctor or go for the heavy-duty over-the-counter stuff that's $$$.
